My husband joined the Tour of the Fireflies this morning. It is a bike for a cause event that encourages people to decrease pollution by biking instead of driving to your destination. This specifically applies to those who frequently travel short distances everyday. The fellow bikers in the tour had worn wonderful fireflies costumes and one even won a special prize for it.
Tour of the Fireflies is just one of the many biking event that my husband has joined. In the past years, he has joined competitions and has won some of them. A biking enthusiast since his younger days, he spends weekends riding his bikes and then cleaning them.
According to my husband, biking is fun and wonderful. One gets to enjoy the different views you pass by with the cool breeze in your face and hair. Biking is also a form of exercise because it firms your legs, calves and buttocks. Long distance biking enhances your endurance and stamina too.
I love watching him get ready and all dressed up in his biking jersey, cycling shorts and sporty sunglasses. He always makes sure that his tires are okay while I see to it that his water bottle is full of water. I always remind him not to forget his sunscreen too.
My husband and I had dinner with my good friend, Cris, last night. She is in town with her husband and will be staying until Tuesday. We met at the mall around 6:00 o’clock pm last night and strolled around to buy some things for our children.
I first met Cris when we were both working for a bank. We instantly clicked and remained good friend even when both of us don’t see each other often anymore. She was the first one to leave her job at the bank and moved to a different state. I stayed a few months longer then decided to leave too. She now resides in the countryside with her family, while I stayed in the city.
During dinner, Cris and I got to catch up on all the things that had happened in our lives. Over a course of steak, fajitas, chips and lemon margaritas, we mostly talked about our families and our kids. We ranted and raved about our jobs and our officemates. We had a great time last night.
It’s really nice to hang out with good friends, exchanging stories and experiences. It feels good to be able to laugh about the past and share plans about the future. Friends should never be neglected. They should be treasured and taken cared of.
I love loves love shoes! I can’t pass by a shoe store without salivating over the different styles and designs. I find it even harder to leave without buying a pair or two.
Shoes are loved by hundreds of people not only because of their function but also because of their design. Not with shoes, you can dress up anyway you want and still look great. There are numerous shoe styles like boots, stilettos, sandals, and sneakers among others. What makes shoes stand out is not the style but the design of every style. For example, all boots are not made equal. Some are thigh, ankle or knee high. Some are plain while others are studded with metal brads, feathers, fur or gems. Some are closed while others have open toes or straps.
Each design makes the shoe beautiful. It enhances its shape, height, texture and color. Without designs, all shoes are plain and boring. We don’t want boring and dull shoes! We want shoes with designs that are made to be flaunted. Shoe designs should be pretty, unconventional, risky or elegant.
I love shoes. And I never would have loved them this much if they were created plain, dull, or boring. Viva Shoes!

I love attending weddings. It is always a love-filled event that I can’t get enough of. Wedding are sacred unions of two people in love. They make a vow in front if other people that they will love each other come what may.
Aside from witnessing my friends love for each other, the whole concept of a wedding truly amazes me. Wedding are not planned in a day and it is never ever easy. From the planning of the theme to materializing it into the bride’s gown, decorations, invitations, souvenirs and so much more. No wonder other brides are called Bridezillas, having a wedding can be a lot of pressure because you want everything to be perfect and beautiful.
Weddings can be done anywhere. Some prefer a secluded island, a large cathedral, a flower filled garden or even in the middle of the ocean. Other extremely outgoing couple do their marriage ceremonies underwater while diving with sharks, on a parachute while dropping a thousand miles above sea level or in the hot scorching desert.
No matter where the wedding location is, how much is spent on the ceremony or who designed the bridal gown, the most important thing to be focused on weddings is the love and commitment of the couple who invited you to share with them the glorious event.
